Le Coupon was co-founded in 2010 by Tan Le, a technology entrepreneur. Tan’s accomplishments date back to her native Australia where she was named Young Australian of the Year in 1998 and was voted one of Australia’s 30 Most Successful Women Under 30 in that same year.
In 2003, Tan co-founded Emotiv, a neuroengineering company that has developed a breakthrough interface technology for digital media taking inputs directly from the brain. Emotiv’s vision is to revolutionize human-computer input in the same way the graphic user interface did 20 years ago. Applications for the Emotiv technology and interface span an array of industries - from gaming to interactive television, every- day computer interactions, hands-free control systems, smart adaptive environments, art, accessibility design, market research, psychology, medicine, robotics, automotive, transport safety, defense and security. Emotiv is a recognized world leader and pioneer in this field of brain computer interface.
Tan has been featured in “Who’s Who in Australia” List since 1999 and “Who’s Who of Australian Women” List in 2007 & 2008, Fast Company’s Most Influential Women in Technology in 2010 and Forbes' Names You Need to Know in 2011. Tan has been honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader since 2009.
